China Condemns Killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader

Date:

BEIJING, Kenya- China has strongly condemned the attack that led to the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, calling it a grave violation of Iran’s sovereignty and security.

A spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the incident tramples on the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter and breaches basic norms of international relations.

“China firmly opposes and strongly condemns it,” the spokesperson said, urging an immediate halt to military operations and warning against further escalation in the Middle East.

The statement emphasized the need for a joint international effort to maintain peace and stability, both in the region and globally, as tensions remain high following the assassination.

China’s response adds to growing international concern over the recent surge in military actions in the Middle East, following attacks by U.S. and Israeli forces on Iran and subsequent retaliatory strikes.
