Gachagua Mourns Victims of Deadly Mwea-Embu Highway Crash

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua has expressed his condolences following the fatal road accident at the Red-Soil area along the Mwea-Embu Highway that claimed nine lives on Saturday morning.

In a statement shared after news of the tragedy emerged, the former Deputy President said he had received reports of the devastating crash “with deep pain,” extending his sympathies to the families affected by the incident.

“My heartfelt sympathies go to the families, friends, and loved ones of those who have tragically lost their lives in the accident,” Gachagua said.

He also remembered those who survived the crash and are currently receiving medical treatment, wishing them a quick recovery.

“To those receiving treatment in hospitals, I wish you a speedy recovery. My prayers are with you,” he added.

Gachagua further prayed for strength and comfort for grieving families as they come to terms with the loss of their loved ones.

“May God grant the bereaved strength and comfort during this difficult time and the souls of the departed rest in eternal peace,” he said.

The crash occurred at the Red-Soil section of the Mwea-Embu Highway, an area that has witnessed several serious road accidents over the years.

Authorities are expected to provide further details on the cause of the accident, the number of casualties, and the identities of those involved as investigations continue.

The latest tragedy adds to growing concerns over road safety in Kenya, with calls for motorists to exercise caution, especially along highways that have been identified as accident hotspots.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene to rescue survivors and transport the injured to nearby health facilities, while police launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
