NAIROBI, Kenya – The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) has announced a three-month attachment programme for university and college students across 17 of its departments.
In a notice issued on Friday, the ICT regulator said the programme is aimed at equipping students with hands-on experience in a fast-changing regulatory environment while working alongside industry professionals.
Applicants can choose from departments such as Human Resources and Administration, Corporate Communications, Finance and Accounts, Supply Chain Management, and Frequency and Spectrum Management.
Other areas include Compliance Enforcement, Cyber Security, Consumer Protection and Advocacy, Postal and Telecom Licensing, Information Technology, and Public Education and Awareness.
Opportunities are also available in Standard and Type Approval, the Universal Service Fund, Research and Planning, Quality Management, Competition Management, and Legal Services.
Eligible applicants must be enrolled in recognised universities, with their fields of study aligned to the departments they apply for.
They must also provide a one-page CV, a cover letter specifying their preferred department, and a letter from their institution confirming active enrolment.
“Successful candidates will gain exposure in a leading regulatory authority, enhance their skills in real-world settings and contribute to the development of Kenya’s information and communications sector,” CA said.

The regulator emphasised that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and warned that canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification. Persons with disabilities and those from marginalised communities are encouraged to apply.
The CA regulates Kenya’s telecommunications, broadcasting, postal and courier services, manages the national frequency spectrum, and oversees the Universal Service Fund.
