NAIROBI, Kenya – Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has urged Kenyan youth to register in large numbers as voters ahead of the 2027 General Election, saying it is the only way to unseat President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza administration.
Speaking on Friday during Wiper’s National Delegates Convention (NDC) at Uhuru Park, Nairobi, Kalonzo made a passionate appeal to young Kenyans — particularly Gen Z — to “rise together” and use their vote as a tool for change.
“If you have not registered, I implore you to register as voters,” Kalonzo said. “When we rise together, no mountain is too high, no government can suppress us. When we rise together, Kenya will rise again.”
The Wiper leader, who was officially endorsed as his party’s presidential flagbearer for the 2027 elections, said voter registration is key to ensuring the current administration becomes “a one-term government.”
The People of Kenya have agreed in one united accord: Shoot Ruto at the ballot! #WANTAM! #KomboaKenya!
Kalonzo accused the government of suppressing dissent, citing recent protests in which demonstrators were shot.
“This government ordered that you be shot, not in the head but in the leg, because you dared to exercise your constitutional rights,” he said.
He called on the youth to “shoot this government at the ballot,” saying the time for political renewal was now.
In his acceptance speech, Kalonzo pledged to offer honest leadership and restore economic dignity if elected.
“Hope is alive and together we shall reclaim our country, rebuild our economy and restore the dignity of every Kenyan household,” he said. “This is a revolution of hope fueled by the unbroken Kenyan spirit.”
