NAIROBI, Kenya – The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has released results for the latest national assessments and directed school heads to collect them in person at the New Mitihani House in Nairobi starting Thursday, July 10.
In a notice issued to all institutions that presented candidates for the exams, KNEC warned that no results will be issued to schools with pending examination fee arrears.
“Institutions with examination fee arrears are expected to clear them before collecting the results,” the notice stated.
KNEC also announced that any queries related to the released results must be submitted exclusively through its online Query Management Information System (QMIS) portal.
Only heads of institutions are allowed to raise such concerns, and they must do so within 30 days from the official release date.
“Queries received after August 22, 2025, will attract a fee of Sh5,000,” the council added.
The QMIS portal is part of KNEC’s ongoing efforts to digitize service delivery and enhance accountability. It can be accessed at https://qmis.knec.ac.ke/externalLogin.

Digital Shift in Academic Verification
The release of exam results comes days after the unveiling of a new digital platform designed to verify academic certificates.
The system was launched on July 4 by Basic Education Principal Secretary Dr. Julius Bitok and is currently being piloted in collaboration with the Public Service Commission.
The mobile app-based platform is intended to address the widespread problem of forged academic documents and will enable faster, more secure verification of credentials.
“With this platform, we are saying goodbye to the era of forged certificates. Verification is now fast, secure, and accessible,” said Dr. Bitok.
The initiative is part of a broader crackdown by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), which has already apprehended several suspects over the use of fake qualifications in the public sector.
Dr. Bitok spoke during the launch of the Education Assessment Resource Centre (EARC) at the KNEC headquarters, where he emphasized the importance of integrity in the education system and public service hiring processes.
