Mic Cheque Podcast’s Mwas Reveals What Really Happened During Viral Crowd Incident

Mic Cheque Podcast co-host Mwas has finally opened up about the viral December 2025 incident that saw him being escorted through a massive crowd during a live event.

Speaking candidly on the No Trolling Podcast, the popular Kenyan digital creator explained that the overwhelming crowd at the event triggered intense anxiety as thousands of fans surrounded him while trying to access the stage.

The incident first sparked widespread speculation online after a video surfaced showing Mwas being hurried through a packed crowd while looking visibly distressed. At the time, social media users questioned whether the Mic Cheque personality had been kicked out of the venue, involved in a confrontation, or caught in a security scare.

However, Mwas now says the truth was far more personal.

“I suffered a panic attack because I was on the other side of the stage setup,” he revealed during the interview.

According to Mwas, the Mic Cheque team had been recording an episode inside a matatu stationed away from the main performance area. While he initially chose to stay inside the vehicle to avoid the overwhelming crowd, events quickly changed when he was informed that he needed to join his co-hosts on stage to introduce the event’s main act.

“I told Chaxxy, I just want to stay here because I didn’t want to cut through a crowd of thousands of people,” he explained.

The creator recalled opening the matatu door only to find an enormous crowd separating him from the stage.

“I just saw like 5,000 people between where I am and where I need to be. And there’s no road,” he said.

The pressure intensified as excited fans began banging on the vehicle and calling out his name while organizers struggled to create a clear path through the crowd. With time running out before the stage appearance, fellow creator Tafari stepped in to help escort him through the audience.

“So Tafari was around. He said, ‘Mwas, come.’ So he just grabbed my hand,” Mwas narrated.

What followed, according to the podcast host, was one of the most overwhelming experiences of his growing celebrity career.

“I’m just walking through a crowd of people who are pulling shirts, who are pulling your hair, shouting your name,” he recalled.

Despite managing to reach the stage successfully and complete the introduction, Mwas admitted that the chaos left him shaken. Afterward, he joined his co-hosts Chaxy and Mariah in the designated seating area, hoping to quietly enjoy the performance. Instead, he continued attracting attention from fans throughout the event.

“There’s someone screaming your name here, screaming your name there. You just have to focus,” he said.

Known for his humor, witty storytelling, and relatable takes on relationships and modern Kenyan life, Mwas has become one of the standout personalities on the Mic Cheque Podcast alongside Chaxxy and Mariah.

However, Mwas admitted that adjusting to public recognition has not always been easy.

“Yeah, it was crazy. I realized like I’m not a big crowd person. But I’m learning. Pole pole,” he shared.

Still, Mwas maintained that he appreciates fans who respect personal boundaries and avoid becoming intrusive.

“It’s nice when people are not intrusive,” he noted.
