Murang’a Woman Stabs Three Children, Killing Two in Suspected Domestic Dispute

Date:

KANGEMA, Kenya — Shock and grief have gripped Kanorero village after a woman allegedly stabbed her three children on Thursday, killing two instantly and leaving the third critically injured.

The children — aged seven, four, and two years — were attacked in their home.

According to preliminary police reports, the 28-year-old woman is believed to have acted after suspecting her husband of infidelity.

Police said the two younger children died on the spot, while the four-year-old was rushed to Murang’a Level 5 Hospital, where he is fighting for his life.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to Kangema Sub-County Hospital mortuary.

After the attack, the woman reportedly attempted to stab herself before walking to Kanorero Police Post, where she surrendered. She was later transferred to Kangema Police Station for further processing.

Residents described the incident as “unimaginable,” saying the family had not shown signs of serious conflict before the tragedy.

Murang’a police have launched investigations into the case, with officers noting that domestic disputes remain a rising concern in the region.
