Singer Nadia Mukami has revealed that her separation from fellow musician Arrow Bwoy happened while she was pregnant with their second child, offering a candid look at one of the most difficult periods of her life.
Speaking during an interview with Alex Mwakideu on AM TV, the award-winning singer said she never had the chance to properly process the end of the relationship because pregnancy, motherhood and work demanded her full attention.
Her revelation sheds new light on the timeline of the couple’s breakup, which occurred before they welcomed their second son in August 2025.
Reflecting on the period, Nadia said there was little room to grieve because she had to keep moving.
“Me, I didn’t get time to mourn the relationship because I didn’t have time. I went back to work at two months. The separation happened when I was pregnant.”
The singer was expecting her second child during the breakup. She publicly announced her pregnancy in May 2025 while performing alongside Arrow Bwoy before the couple later held a gender reveal party, confirming they were expecting another baby boy. Their son was born on August 9, 2025.
Despite the emotional strain of the separation, Nadia said she had to remain focused on preparing for motherhood while continuing to honour professional commitments.
Although their romantic relationship had ended, Nadia explained that she and Arrow Bwoy still had to work together because of business partnerships and responsibilities linked to their family.
She said their shared commitments left little room for personal emotions.
“Yes, we had to come together because there were businesses. I can do business as long as it involves our kids. We had RFH on board, we had Peekaboo, so we had to get into programme.”
According to the singer, separating personal feelings from business became necessary, especially when fulfilling contractual obligations and ensuring financial stability for their children.
She stressed that work was never just about advancing her own career.
“When it comes to hustling, I have to get into programme. It’s not even about me. Even when I feel bad, it’s for my kids.”
Nadia also opened up about the emotional cost of balancing a demanding music career with raising two young children.
“When you’re busy, you’re very, very busy. You have a show and you think, ‘My child spends so much time with the nanny and has gotten used to the nanny.'”
Despite those challenges, she said she makes a conscious effort to be fully present whenever she is not working.
“When I’m not working, even if you invite me somewhere, I’m not coming. I have to stay with my kids. I try to provide the best life for them. Whatever they want, I’ll give them.”
The singer’s latest revelations come after she made a series of deeply personal admissions during the AM TV interview.
Earlier in the conversation, Nadia said she fought hard to save her relationship with Arrow Bwoy because she had always dreamed of building a family.
She also disclosed that she has not given up on love and would consider marriage again in the future, although she now has clear expectations for any future partner. Among her non-negotiables are maturity, financial stability and a healthy co-parenting arrangement.
