NAIROBI, Kenya – President William Ruto has highlighted the positive impact of his government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, saying that Kenya is already witnessing the benefits of innovative programs and policies rolled out since 2022.
Speaking at State House, Nairobi, on Friday, the President emphasized that the country’s economy has stabilized, with inflation significantly dropping from 9.6 percent in 2022 to just 3.5 percent today.
President Ruto also pointed to increased agricultural productivity as a key indicator of progress, citing higher yields in maize, tea, and sugarcane, as well as improved prices for coffee and milk.
“The decisions we have made collectively are bearing fruit,” the President said, noting that the economy is now on a stable path, benefiting all Kenyans.
The President made these remarks during a meeting with Maa community elders and leaders from 10 counties, including Governors Joseph ole Lenku (Kajiado), Patrick ole Ntutu (Narok), Jonathan Lelelit (Samburu), and 25 Members of Parliament.

The gathering was an opportunity for the President to discuss key issues facing the community and the nation at large.
Ruto also urged the elders to encourage gender equality in education, stressing that it is critical for the Maa community to ensure that both boys and girls have access to schooling.
“Education is a vital tool for the future, and we cannot afford to leave anyone behind,” he said.
In addition, the President addressed the issue of divisive politics, urging Kenyan leaders to unite for the common good of the country.
“We must reject tribal-based politics and work together to overcome the challenges we face,” he said.
Governor Joseph ole Lenku expressed the Maa community’s strong support for the government’s agenda, reaffirming their commitment to the President’s vision.
“We stand behind you, Mr. President, and we are ready to work together to ensure the success of your transformative policies,” Governor Lenku stated.
Senator Ledama ole Kina also voiced his unwavering support for President Ruto’s leadership, pledging that the Maa community would fully back the government’s efforts for the prosperity of Kenya.
