NAIROBI, Kenya – President William Ruto has directed the Ministry of Interior to enforce mandatory training for all administration officers, aiming to enhance the government’s efficiency in service delivery.
Speaking on Monday at the National Police College Embakasi ‘A’ Campus during the graduation of 1,837 chiefs and assistant chiefs, President Ruto emphasized the need for officers to be equipped with modern skills to effectively implement government programmes.
“You must continuously educate yourselves on government programmes, ensuring that you articulate them accurately and confidently,” he told the graduating officers.

President Ruto noted that the last comprehensive training for administration officers was conducted in 2016, underscoring the urgent need to expand training initiatives.
He directed that every newly hired chief or assistant chief should undergo the programme within six months of appointment.
The training initiative targets another 6,000 officers, aiming to strengthen the government’s operations at the grassroots level.

President Ruto highlighted the critical role of administration officers in implementing the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.
“You are the bridge between the State and wananchi in the remotest villages, the first responders during crises, and the daily visible face of government to millions of Kenyans,” he said.
“I urge you to promote these programmes, ensure farmers receive the services they are entitled to, resolve resource-based disputes promptly, and guarantee equitable access to inputs and opportunities.”
The president’s directive comes amid ongoing efforts to improve government accountability and streamline public service delivery across the country.
