NAIROBI, Kenya — President William Ruto has congratulated Chinese President Xi Jinping and the people of China on the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), reaffirming Kenya’s commitment to strengthening its long-standing strategic partnership with Beijing.

In a congratulatory message delivered through United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Hassan Omar Hassan to China’s Ambassador to Kenya, Guo Haiyan, President Ruto praised China’s economic transformation over the past century and commended the CPC’s leadership under President Xi.

The message, released on Wednesday, described China’s development as one of the most remarkable transformations in modern history, crediting the Communist Party with lifting hundreds of millions of people out of poverty, building one of the world’s largest economies and positioning China as a global leader in science, technology and innovation.

President Ruto said the achievements reflect the CPC’s commitment to institutional resilience, disciplined governance and continuous self-renewal.

He also commended President Xi’s leadership in advancing governance reforms through Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, saying the framework has guided China’s continued modernization, national rejuvenation and high-quality development.

The President further acknowledged China’s growing partnership with Africa through initiatives including the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), and expanding political cooperation between African and Chinese parties.

According to the statement, these partnerships have reinforced China’s position as one of Africa’s key strategic partners while advancing South-South cooperation.

President Ruto said Kenya continues to draw inspiration from China’s development experience as it implements the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), which aims to accelerate inclusive economic growth, expand opportunities and improve livelihoods.

He expressed confidence that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Kenya and China would continue to deepen for the mutual benefit of both countries.

The President’s message comes as Kenya and China continue to strengthen bilateral cooperation across infrastructure, trade, manufacturing, technology, education and healthcare.

China remains Kenya’s largest bilateral trading partner and one of its leading infrastructure financiers, having supported major projects including the Standard Gauge Railway, highways, energy developments and industrial investments.

The congratulatory message also signals Nairobi’s intention to maintain close diplomatic and economic ties with Beijing as both countries pursue expanded cooperation under existing bilateral agreements and regional development initiatives.

President Ruto concluded by extending his heartfelt congratulations to President Xi, the Communist Party of China, and the Chinese people, expressing optimism that the friendship between the two nations will continue to flourish in the years ahead.
