Tourist Aircraft Crashes During Take-Off in Maasai Mara, No Casulties Reported

Date:

Panic briefly gripped Ol Kiombo Airstrip in the Maasai Mara National Reserve on Monday, June 1, after a light aircraft crashed during take-off.

The aircraft, which was carrying tourists, reportedly veered off the runway after a tyre burst, coming to a stop within the airstrip. Emergency responders rushed to the scene as rescue operations got underway.

Despite the dramatic incident, officials confirmed that no fatalities or serious injuries were reported. The Kenya Wildlife Service said all occupants were safe.

Images from the scene showed responders and security personnel moving quickly toward the damaged aircraft, while another plane remained parked nearby as operations were secured.

Authorities have launched investigations to determine the exact cause of the crash, as concerns grow over a series of recent aviation incidents in the country.
