NAIROBI, Kenya – Actress, model and content creator Trisha Khalid has joined Hello Mr. Right Kenya as the new celebrity co-host for Season 5, taking over the role previously held by Risper Faith.
Trisha was unveiled on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, during a press briefing at Victoria Towers in Upper Hill, Nairobi, ahead of the return of the popular dating reality show.
She will work alongside returning host Dr. Ofweneke and relationship expert Gertrude Mungai as the programme enters its fifth season.
The new season is scheduled to premiere on October 31, 2026, with episodes airing every Saturday at 8pm on Rembo TV.
Trisha’s appointment introduces a new personality to the show’s hosting lineup as the production expands its focus beyond matchmaking to broader conversations about relationships, marriage, money and family responsibilities.
Trisha takes over the celebrity co-host position from Risper Faith, who served alongside Dr. Ofweneke during Season 4.
Her selection followed a process in which StarTimes considered several potential candidates before settling on the actress and digital creator.
Dr. Ofweneke said the team assessed the candidates based on their personalities, energy, authenticity and views on love and marriage before making its decision.
“We had around five names on the table. We looked at personality, energy, authenticity and originality, at what each person thinks about love and marriage, and of course we checked the beauty as well. Everything settled on Trisha Khalid,” he said.
The veteran host also welcomed the change, saying he expected to enjoy working with his new co-host.
“Personally, I know I’m going to have a good time this season,” Dr. Ofweneke said.
Trisha, for her part, hinted that her partnership with the show’s lead host would bring plenty of energy to the programme.
“I expect more energy and more fun from both of us. I’m about to stress him (Dr Ofweneke) out,” she said.
StarTimes Marketing Director Tamima Ibrahim said the network selected Trisha because she already has a strong connection with audiences and experience in television.
“The candidate we selected is not new to the audience. She has a huge following and great TV hosting experience,” Ibrahim said.
She added that Trisha’s public profile made her a natural fit for the programme’s next chapter.
Trisha has built her career across acting, modelling and digital content.
She gained widespread recognition after playing Ruby in the Maisha Magic East telenovela Kovu. The role earned her a nomination for Best Lead Actress at the 2020 Kalasha Awards.
She later appeared in Citizen TV’s Becky while continuing to grow her presence on social media.
Her large digital following has also helped establish her as one of the more recognisable young personalities in Kenya’s entertainment industry.
Trisha’s arrival comes as Hello Mr. Right introduces a broader range of contestants.
The fifth season will feature singles from different age groups and backgrounds, including contestants aged 45 and above.
Producers have also included differently abled participants and people living with skin pigmentation challenges.
The cast will also feature divorced, separated and widowed contestants, widening the show’s portrayal of people looking for companionship and marriage.
Among the older participants is a 65-year-old man who will appear on the programme in search of love.
Relationship expert Gertrude Mungai said the expanded age range would allow the programme to explore experiences that are often left out of mainstream dating conversations.
“We have had women over 45, and we have a 65-year-old man coming to look for love,” she said.
Hello Mr. Right Kenya Season 5 will premiere on October 31, 2026. The show will air every Saturday at 8pm EAT on Rembo TV, available on StarTimes Channel 113 on aerial/DTT and Channel 484 on DTH.
The season’s audition episode is scheduled to air on October 17.
