NAIROBI, Kenya — President William Ruto held talks with Azerbaijan’s Defence Industry Minister Vugar Mustafayev at State House, Nairobi, in a meeting aimed at deepening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation between the two nations.
According to the Presidency, the discussions centred on strengthening longstanding diplomatic relations, enhancing trade and investment, and identifying new areas of strategic partnership that can deliver tangible benefits to citizens of both countries.
President Ruto said Kenya and Azerbaijan share complementary interests that can be leveraged to advance economic growth, defence cooperation, and technological exchange.
He emphasised that expanding investment flows remains a core pillar of Kenya’s foreign policy, particularly in unlocking opportunities for local industries and job creation.
The leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to broadening collaboration in sectors of mutual interest — including manufacturing, capacity building, and emerging technologies — as part of a wider effort to support shared prosperity.
The meeting builds on Kenya’s ongoing engagement with global partners as the country seeks to diversify economic relationships and attract new investment into priority sectors.
