KURA Advertises Senior Engineering and Technical Jobs in Fresh Recruitment Drive

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya — The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has invited qualified Kenyans to apply for a range of engineering, technical, and administrative positions in a fresh recruitment drive aimed at strengthening the management of urban road infrastructure.

In a public notice, KURA said the vacancies are offered on three-year contracts and are open to experienced professionals and support staff across several job grades.

The authority, a state corporation under the Ministry of Roads and Transport, is mandated under the Kenya Roads Act, 2007, to manage, develop, rehabilitate, and maintain national urban trunk roads.

Among the advertised positions is Director of Engineering, with two vacancies at KURA Job Grade 2, reflecting a senior leadership role in the planning and execution of urban road projects. The authority is also seeking to recruit 14 Engineer II officers at Job Grade 8, signalling continued expansion and maintenance of urban road networks across major towns.

Other positions include Assistant Inspector Roads III (four vacancies), Finance and Accounts Officer II (four vacancies), Assistant Office Administrator III (four vacancies), and Driver III (five vacancies).

Each role carries a specific vacancy reference number, which applicants are required to clearly indicate in their applications.

KURA directed interested candidates to obtain detailed job descriptions, qualifications, and responsibilities from its official website. Applications must be submitted in writing using the mandatory KURA job application form, with applicants required to attach certified copies of academic certificates, transcripts, testimonials, and a curriculum vitae.

According to the notice, completed applications should be delivered by hand to KURA headquarters or sent by post, to reach the Director General on or before February 2, 2026, at 5.00 p.m. East African Time.

Successful candidates will be required to meet the Leadership and Integrity requirements set out in Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.

These include presenting a tax compliance certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority, a clearance certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board, a certificate of good conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, a duly completed Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission self-declaration form, and a credit clearance certificate from a recognised Credit Reference Bureau.

KURA emphasised that it is an equal opportunity employer, encouraging applications from women, youth and persons living with disabilities, and warned applicants against fraudsters, stating that the authority does not charge any fees for applications, shortlisting, or interviews.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted, the authority said, as it moves to bolster its technical and administrative capacity in support of Kenya’s urban development agenda.
