NAIROBI, Kenya – The three men accused of murdering Wells Fargo Human Resource Manager Willis Ayieko appeared before the Siaya High Court on Monday for a pre-trial conference, where their bid for bail hit a dead end.
The suspects—Victor Ouma Okoth, alias Sisco; Duncan Ochieng, alias Otuchi; and Samuel Onyango, alias Jaboda—were arrested in October 2024 in connection with Ayieko’s brutal killing.
Standing before Justice David Kemei, they maintained their innocence but faced a tough ruling that kept them behind bars.
Bail Rejected, Transfers Ordered
Their lawyers pushed for bail, arguing that their clients posed no flight risk. However, Justice Kemei was unconvinced.
He ordered that all three remain in custody at Kodiaga Maximum Prison in Kisumu County until their hearing on May 26 and 27, 2025.
One of the accused, Duncan Ochieng, is set to be transferred from Siaya GK Prison to Kodiaga Maximum Prison following a separate directive from the court.

Meanwhile, the judge deferred his ruling on Samuel Onyango’s bail request to April 8, leaving one suspect with a sliver of hope for pre-trial release.
Ayieko’s body was found in a shallow stream in Gem Yala sub-county on October 23, 2024—three days after he was reported missing.
The discovery sent shockwaves through the community, raising questions about motive and execution.
As the case inches toward trial, the public remains fixated on whether justice will be served.
For now, all eyes are on the upcoming court sessions, where new details may emerge.
