Top UDA Leadership in Uganda To Meet Museveni’s NRM

Date:

KAMPALA, Uganda – A delegation from Kenya’s ruling party, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), is in Uganda for a week-long visit to engage in consultative discussions with the National Resistance Movement (NRM), the party of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.

Led by UDA Secretary General Senator Hassan Omar, the delegation aims to strengthen political ties and explore areas of mutual interest between the two parties and their respective nations.

The visit underscores growing cross-border political cooperation as both governments navigate regional dynamics.

Sources indicate that discussions will revolve around governance strategies, party organization, and regional stability.

The UDA team is also expected to tour the NRM Leadership Academy, a training institution for political leadership, as the Kenyan party eyes the establishment of a similar institution.

A key highlight of the visit will be a meeting on Friday with President Museveni, who also serves as NRM’s National Chairman.

The engagement is expected to deepen party-to-party relations and align strategic interests in East Africa’s evolving political landscape.
