NAIROBI, Kenya – National carrier Kenya Airways is set to expand its global footprint with the official launch of direct flights to London Gatwick Airport on July 2, 2025.
The airline says this move marks a new chapter in the airline’s growing European network.
In a pre-launch event held Saturday in London, Kenya Airways hosted key UK stakeholders to celebrate the upcoming route.
“This isn’t just a new route, it’s a renewed connection between Kenya and the UK,” the airline said in a statement.
According to the airline,theLondon Gatwick route is expected to enhance connectivity for business, tourism, and diaspora communities, while strengthening bilateral relations between Kenya and the United Kingdom.
Kenya Airways already operates flights to London Heathrow, and the addition of Gatwick offers passengers more flexibility and access to the southern UK corridor.
The move is part of Kenya Airways’ broader strategy to increase accessibility and modernize its offerings in the global aviation space.
Industry analysts believe the route could significantly boost travel demand and position Nairobi as a central hub for African-European air travel.
