Lady Gaga has become a mother for the first time after welcoming a child with her fiancé, Michael Polansky.
The 40-year-old Grammy-winning singer and the entrepreneur have welcomed their first child together, marking a major personal milestone for the famously private couple.
The news was first reported by Page Six on Friday, September 11, 2026, after Gaga and Polansky were spotted with their newborn in Northern California. Gaga carried the baby close to her chest during a family outing while Polansky walked beside her.
However, the couple has chosen to keep details surrounding the arrival private. They have not disclosed the baby’s name, sex or exact date of birth. Representatives for Gaga also did not immediately comment on the reports.
The arrival marks a new chapter for Gaga, who has spoken publicly for years about her desire to become a mother.

Gaga has repeatedly described motherhood as one of her biggest personal ambitions, even as she built a career that turned her into one of the world’s most recognisable entertainers.
In December 2019, she spoke about her plans for the future during a YouTube interview, saying she wanted to continue making films and music while also starting a family.
“I want to do more movies, I want to have babies,” Gaga said at the time.
She returned to the subject in a 2020 interview with InStyle, where she spoke enthusiastically about becoming a parent.
“I will say I am very excited to have kids. I look forward to being a mom,” she said.
Gaga also reflected on the physical experience of motherhood, describing the ability to carry and give birth to a child as something she found remarkable.
More recently, Gaga spoke candidly about becoming a mother during an October 2025 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
“I would like to do many things,” she said. “All of these things are open. But what I really want is to be a mom. That’s my next starring role, I hope.”
Gaga and Polansky have largely kept their relationship away from the spotlight despite both being prominent public figures.
The pair were first linked publicly around 2020 and became engaged in 2024. Their relationship has developed alongside Gaga’s demanding career, with Polansky supporting her professional projects while maintaining his own work as an entrepreneur and philanthropist.
Gaga has also spoken about the kind of parent she hopes to become.
In a March 2025 interview with The New York Times, she said she wanted her future children to have the freedom to discover themselves rather than feel pressured to follow a path chosen for them.
“The thing that’s the most important to me is to not force my children to live a life that they are not choosing,” she said.
She added that she wanted to give her children room to understand who they were on their own.
Gaga completed her Mayhem Ball tour in April 2026 after nearly nine months and 86 shows. She subsequently appeared less frequently in public, allowing her to spend more time away from the intense attention that has followed her since she became a global star.
While fans have celebrated the news, Gaga and Polansky have yet to reveal basic details about their newborn.
