Oga Obinna Reveals Plan to Raise 60 Children Through Adoption and Family Support Initiative

NAIROBI, Kenya — Media personality and comedian Oga Obinna has opened up about his ambitious dream of raising a large family, revealing plans to have 10 biological children while supporting up to 50 other children through adoption and education sponsorship programs.

Speaking during an interview on Monday, Obinna said his approach to parenthood has been shaped by years of helping children from disadvantaged backgrounds access education and better living conditions.

The entertainer explained that many of the children he supports come from families struggling to meet basic needs such as rent, school fees, and school uniforms.

Rather than offering temporary assistance, he said he prefers investing in long-term solutions that can transform a child’s future while allowing parents to regain financial stability.

“I want to have 10 biological children and adopt up to 50 children,” Obinna said.

According to him, some of the children he has assisted lived in informal settlements where families faced significant economic hardship.

By facilitating access to boarding schools and covering education-related expenses, he believes children are given a better chance to succeed while easing pressure on their parents.

Obinna noted that his efforts often extend beyond one child because many beneficiaries have siblings who also require support.

“Sometimes when you adopt, you find out the child has a sister or brother, so you end up adopting the two of them,” he said.

The media personality disclosed that he currently has five biological children and 11 adopted children. During school holidays, some of the adopted children stay at his home, creating what he described as a vibrant and busy household.

To accommodate the growing family, he has made practical arrangements, including shared rooms and bunk beds. Despite the logistical challenges, Obinna said he enjoys being surrounded by children and finds fulfillment in providing guidance and support.

“I love seeing a bunch of kids. You wake up, everyone hugs you… Dad, dad, dad,” he said.

The comedian also drew a distinction between how he relates to his biological children and the adopted children under his care. He said his biological children are part of a long-term family vision that includes building a legacy and shared goals for the future.

For the adopted children, however, he views his role as helping them transition from difficult circumstances to a more stable and promising future.

Obinna’s remarks have drawn attention to the growing role of private individuals and philanthropists in supporting vulnerable children through education and mentorship.

In Kenya, thousands of children remain at risk of missing out on educational opportunities due to poverty and other socio-economic challenges.

As he continues to expand his outreach, Obinna says his ultimate goal is to create opportunities that can positively impact dozens of young lives while strengthening families and communities.
