Stevo Simple Boy Splits With Brenda After DNA Results As New Claims Emerge

Trending

NAIROBI, Kenya – Kenyan rapper Stevo Simple Boy has announced his separation from Brenda following DNA test results that excluded him as the biological father of their son, Dragon Junior, as fresh claims from his former partner have added another layer to the unfolding dispute.

The musician, whose real name is Stephen Otieno Adera, confirmed the breakup in a statement shared on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, saying the results had been difficult to process but that he wanted to handle the matter respectfully.

“Following the DNA test results, I wish to officially announce that Brenda and I are no longer together as a couple,” he said.

“I have chosen to handle this with dignity and respect for everyone involved,” he added, while asking the public to respect his privacy.

However, the breakup announcement was followed by a different account from Brenda, who claimed that Stevo had known about the child’s paternity before the latest test results became public.

Brenda Claims Stevo Knew Before DNA Results

Speaking during a phone conversation with content creator 2Mbili on October 20, Brenda maintained that she had previously discussed the child’s paternity with the rapper.

She challenged the content creator to ask Stevo whether she had informed him about the issue earlier, suggesting that the couple had already discussed the matter privately.

Her account introduces a new dimension to the public dispute, although the claim has not been independently established. Stevo’s breakup statement did not address Brenda’s assertion that he had prior knowledge.

The two accounts leave questions about the timeline of their private discussions unanswered.

What The DNA Test Reportedly Revealed

The paternity test was conducted by Microafia Healthcare, with samples reportedly collected on September 25 and results released on October 10, 2026.

According to the findings read out by medical practitioner Dr Peter Ngumba in a video circulating online, the genetic profiles submitted for Stevo and the child showed mismatches at 11 of the loci examined.

The practitioner stated that the results excluded Stevo as the child’s biological father.

The child, identified as Aiden Maleek, is popularly known as Dragon Junior, a nickname associated with Stevo’s stage identity, Dragon of Africa.

The paternity question had attracted public attention weeks earlier after Stevo’s former manager, Geoffrey Machabe, claimed that he was the child’s biological father. Machabe subsequently withdrew the claim and apologised to Stevo and his family on September 18, 2026.

Neither the earlier claim nor the subsequent online speculation should be treated as independent proof of anyone else’s biological relationship to the child.

Stevo Says He Wants To Focus On Music

In his statement, Stevo thanked Microafia Healthcare for conducting the test and providing the results.

He also indicated that he intended to concentrate on his professional life as he dealt with the personal development.

“My focus remains on my music, my career, and building a better future,” he said.

His announcement prompted emotional reactions from fans, many of whom expressed sympathy and urged him to remain strong.

One commenter, @njambifever_official, wrote: “Hii si poa wah💔 Stivo you’ve been through enough! Woi Ghai.”

Another user, @luvusi_bruce, compared the rapper’s struggles to those of Job in the Bible, while other commenters shared messages of encouragement.

Stevo responded briefly in the comments, writing: “Kila dua lina funzo 🙏🙏”.

Some users also called for stronger legal protections for men facing paternity disputes, reflecting the wider debate sparked by the case.

A Private Family Matter Under Public Scrutiny

The separation has turned a private family issue into a widely discussed entertainment story, with social media users debating paternity, relationships and the emotional impact of DNA testing.

Brenda’s claim that Stevo knew about the issue beforehand, however, remains her account of events and has not been independently verified.

Stevo has asked the public to respect his privacy, while the child’s welfare and privacy remain important considerations amid the online attention.

For now, the rapper has publicly confirmed the end of the relationship, but questions about the couple’s earlier discussions and the circumstances surrounding the paternity test remain unresolved.
