Elsa Majimbo Again Denies Drug Use, Says She Has Never Tried Drugs

Kenyan-born comedian Elsa Majimbo has once again denied allegations of drug use, saying she has never used drugs after strangers labelled her a “junkie” and questioned her mental wellbeing over her personal choices.

In a post on X on Thursday, October 15, 2026, the US-based content creator defended her fashion and lifestyle, arguing that people should not interpret her appearance or the way she chooses to live as evidence of substance abuse or mental illness.

“I’ve had strangers calling me a junkie when I have never done drugs in my life. Not once. Dressing how I want and doing what I want doesn’t make me mentally unwell,” Majimbo wrote.

The comedian also expressed disappointment that the allegations could influence young people who admire her, using the post to discourage drug use and encourage her followers to prioritise their education and treat others with kindness.

“It’s such a shame because so many young minds look up to me. Drugs are not cool. Stay in school. Be kind. Love Elsa,” she added.

Majimbo said she did not publish the statement to attract sympathy or portray herself as a victim. Instead, she wanted to make her position clear to young followers who might otherwise associate her public image with the allegations.

“This caption isn’t to seek sympathy. I’m blessed. Not a victim. It’s to make it clear for the kids that look up to me that’s not what I’m doing, and I don’t think it’s a path anyone should take,” she said.

Her response directly addressed the drug-use claims while challenging the assumptions people make about her mental wellbeing based on her appearance and lifestyle.

The October statement is not the first time Majimbo has publicly rejected speculation about substance use.

In April 2026, the comedian addressed similar rumours in a video shared on TikTok, questioning why people had concluded that she was using drugs.

“I do not know who started the rumour, I do not know why, I do not know what gave them the impression. But I have said this multiple times, and it is even known around Hollywood and to people who know me. I do not even drink,” she said.

Majimbo also challenged the suggestion that her reduced social media activity indicated a personal problem.

“It is not fair judgment to put on someone just because I do not come on the internet and laugh every day, it does not mean I am on drugs. It means I do not want to be on the internet, and I do not want to laugh every day just to make you happy,” she added.

She described herself as shy, reserved and introverted, explaining that she did not always want to appear online or maintain the constant stream of comedy content that initially attracted her audience.

The remarks came after changes in her public image and online activity prompted speculation among some followers about her wellbeing.

Majimbo first gained widespread attention in 2020 through short comedy videos that featured her distinctive laugh, sunglasses and packets of crisps. Her humorous commentary on everyday experiences helped her build an international audience during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Her popularity opened doors to international brand partnerships and collaborations, including opportunities in fashion and entertainment.

However, her public image has evolved since her early days as a social media comedian. She has experimented with different fashion styles, shared more unconventional photographs and reduced her regular comedy output.

Some of her posts have attracted criticism, while other followers have questioned the changes in her presentation.
