Kanye West Makes History With Record-Breaking Houston Concert

Kanye West, now known as Ye, has broken the United States stadium rap concert attendance record after drawing 80,210 fans to his Halloween performance in Houston, Texas.

The rapper performed at Reliant Stadium, also known as NRG Stadium, on Saturday, October 31, 2026, where the massive turnout surpassed his previous record set during his two-show run at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, in April.

Promoter IKON Concerts and the Houston venue confirmed the attendance figure, describing the performance as a record-breaking event for a US stadium rap concert.

“Houston made history tonight. Ye Live in Houston has officially broken the US stadium rap concert attendance record!” the organisers announced after the show.

The 80,210 figure places Ye ahead of his previous benchmark of approximately 74,500 tickets sold per night at SoFi Stadium. Billboard Boxscore figures reported 149,000 tickets sold across his two April performances, averaging 74,500 per show.

The Houston concert therefore marked another major attendance milestone for the rapper, whose stadium performances have continued to attract large audiences despite years of controversy surrounding his public statements and conduct.

Ye acknowledged the achievement during his performance of Ghost Town, pausing to thank the audience for turning out in such large numbers.

“We just broke the record. Biggest rap concert in U.S. history. Thank you, H-Town,” he told the crowd.

“Thank y’all for sticking by me all these years,” he added.

The nearly three-hour performance brought together songs from different stages of Ye’s career, including some of his biggest commercial hits, fan favourites and previously unreleased material from his upcoming album, Bully.

The setlist included tracks such as Stronger, Gold Digger, All of the Lights, Power, Heartless, Jesus Walks and Runaway. He also performed new songs King and Father, giving fans a preview of material from the forthcoming project.

Ye closed the show with Runaway, one of the defining tracks from his 2010 album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

The concert also featured appearances from several familiar faces, including rapper Playboi Carti and Ye’s daughter, North West.

Carti joined Ye for a run of songs that included Carnival and Off the Grid. He also performed Evil J0rdan and FE!N, taking the lead during parts of the set as Ye stepped back.

North, meanwhile, appeared on stage for three songs, including Legacy and Talking. The 13-year-old wore elaborate horror-inspired face paint for the Halloween performance, with a dangling eyeball detail adding to her costume.

Her appearance drew an enthusiastic response from the audience. Ye also shared a brief embrace with his daughter before she left the stage.

Other notable figures spotted at the concert included Drake, Travis Scott and producer Mike Dean. Drake and Scott had earlier attended a Houston Rockets basketball game before making their way to the stadium.

The guest appearances added to an already packed performance, which featured an elaborate production built around a large suspended half-sphere resembling Earth.

Ye performed from atop the structure as planetary imagery, lasers and pyrotechnics transformed the stadium into an immersive visual spectacle.

Ahead of the concert, Reliant Stadium warned attendees that it would not tolerate hateful messages or symbols. The venue said expressions of hate displayed through clothing, tattoos or signs would not be permitted.

Holocaust Museum Houston also offered free admission over the Halloween weekend, amid concerns about the potential use of antisemitic messaging around the event.

Despite the controversy, tens of thousands of fans attended the concert, making it one of the biggest rap performances in the country this year.

Ye’s stadium tour is scheduled to continue with a performance at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on November 7, followed by a show at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on November 21.
