President William Ruto’s daughter, Charlene Ruto, has praised her fiancé, Tanzanian technology entrepreneur Isaya Yunge, days after their traditional engagement ceremony in Narok County.
Charlene described Yunge as a man who loves, supports and challenges her, while thanking him for the role he has played in her life.
“Above all to thank the one who pursued me, loves me, adores me, sharpens me. A man after God’s own heart, so intelligent and smart, kind and caring,” Charlene said.
Her remarks come after the couple held their traditional Koito engagement ceremony on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Intona Heritage Farm in Kilgoris, Narok County.
The ceremony brought together members of the two families and prominent guests.
The traditional ceremony marked a major step in the relationship between Charlene and Yunge, whose engagement has now been publicly celebrated by their families.
President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto attended the ceremony alongside other guests.
Yunge, a Tanzanian technology entrepreneur, has been identified as Charlene’s fiancé following the traditional engagement ceremony.
In her message, Charlene focused on Yunge’s personal qualities, describing him as intelligent, kind and caring and expressing appreciation for the way he supports and challenges her.
Her reference to him as “a man after God’s own heart” also placed a strong emphasis on faith in her tribute.
The Koito ceremony was held at the Ruto family’s Intona Heritage Farm in Kilgoris, with the occasion combining traditional cultural practices and a family celebration.
