NAIROBI, Kenya – President William Ruto has officially gazetted the Presidential task force on Forensic Audit of Public Debt.
The task force shall conduct a forensic audit of Kenya’s public debt.
Nancy Onyango has been named as the chairperson of the taskforce and will be deputised by Prof Luis Franceschi.
The taskforce will include representatives from key professional bodies, including the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), the Institute of Engineers of Kenya (IEK), and the
Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
This diverse representation aims to ensure a comprehensive and impartial audit.
The taskforce is mandated to deliver its findings within three months, as part of President Ruto’s broader commitment to enhancing fiscal transparency and accountability in response to recent public outcry over the country’s financial management.
