Kenyan social media personality and political commentator Cassypool has travelled to Zanzibar to condole Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan following the death of her husband, Hafidh Ameir Hassan.
Cassypool shared a message of solidarity as he visited Tanzania to join the family and other mourners in remembering the late First Gentleman.
The Kenyan personality travelled to Kizimkazi, where Hafidh was laid to rest, and used his social media platforms to express his condolences to President Samia and the bereaved family.
In his message, Cassypool addressed the Tanzanian president directly, saying:
“Pokea rambirambi zangu Rais wa TZ Samia Suluhu. Kutoka kwa kiumbe dhaifu wa Kenya.”
The message translates to: “Receive my condolences, President of Tanzania Samia Suluhu, from a humble Kenyan.”
Cassypool also prayed for the family as they deal with the loss.
“Mungu awape subira, nguvu na moyo wa uvumilivu.”
The statement means, “May God grant you patience, strength and a spirit of endurance.”
Cassypool’s decision to travel to Zanzibar came shortly after the death of Hafidh, who had been married to President Samia for several decades.
Cassypool has previously made several public appearances in Tanzania and has maintained a visible relationship with Tanzanian political figures. His presence in Zanzibar therefore attracted attention among his followers, particularly as he joined mourners during a sensitive period for the Tanzanian president.
The visit also came as Tanzania mourned the death of Hafidh, whose passing prompted messages of condolence from across the country and the wider East African region.
Hafidh Ameir Hassan served as Tanzania’s First Gentleman after President Samia became the country’s first female president in March 2021.
He remained largely away from the political spotlight compared with his wife but occasionally appeared alongside the president during public and official engagements.
Hafidh died on September 7, 2026, at the age of 76 after reportedly battling a chronic heart condition.
