Tanzanian music stars Zuchu and Diamond Platnumz have reunited, putting weeks of breakup speculation behind them with a lavish baby shower celebration where they revealed they are expecting a baby girl.
The glamorous event, held in Dar es Salaam, brought together family members, close friends and several prominent figures from the entertainment industry as the couple celebrated the next chapter of their relationship.
It also marked their first major public appearance together since reports of their separation sparked widespread discussion across East Africa.
The evening’s biggest highlight came during the gender reveal, when pink smoke and matching decorations filled the venue, confirming that the couple is expecting a daughter.
The announcement was met with cheers from guests, while photos and videos from the celebration quickly spread across social media, where fans congratulated the couple on the milestone.
Ahead of the baby shower, Diamond Platnumz officially confirmed that he and Zuchu were expecting their first child together.
Sharing Zuchu’s maternity photos on social media, the award-winning singer accompanied the images with a heartfelt message.
“A new heart beats in the family.”
The simple but emotional caption immediately drew millions of reactions from fans, many of whom celebrated the announcement after a period of speculation surrounding the couple’s relationship.
During the celebration, Diamond took the microphone to address Zuchu in an emotional speech that reflected on their recent relationship struggles while reaffirming his commitment to their future together.

Reminding her of the foundation of their relationship, he said:
“Before we argue and fight, let’s not forget we loved each other first.”
Diamond also expressed gratitude to Zuchu for carrying their child and spoke about how much it meant to him that they would soon welcome a daughter together.
“I am incredibly proud of you.”
He went on to thank the singer for making what he described as his dream of having a Tanzanian daughter come true. The Bongo Flava superstar also acknowledged the professional sacrifices Zuchu has made during her pregnancy.
Recognizing that decision, Diamond said:
“This decision is very hard for someone who sings. It means she won’t be able to release her works for a few months.”
One of the night’s most talked-about moments came when Diamond publicly apologized to Zuchu for the relationship friction that had played out in recent weeks.
As part of the apology, he presented her with Tsh 78 million—approximately $30,000 (KSh 3.8 million)—in cash.
While handing over the gift, Diamond emphasized that the gesture represented appreciation rather than compensation.
“For the gift I am giving to this lady, this sister, this woman, this mother, this girl, this Zu, this wife… it cannot be compared to money… I love you, I value you, I thank you.”
