NAIROBI, Kenya — The family of Kenyan gospel singer Guardian Angel has spoken out in his defense amid online discussions surrounding his marriage to Esther Musila.
In a statement shared online, Musila’s daughter Gilda Naibei defended the singer and addressed allegations circulating on social media, clarifying that many of the issues being discussed date back several years.
“I woke up to see that we were trending. I am not one to address rumors, but I find it necessary to clarify a few things,” she wrote.
According to the statement, the claims being circulated relate to legal matters from 2017 and are being resurfaced years later.
She emphasized that while disagreements may exist within families, Esther’s children continue to respect their mother’s leadership and the foundation she built together with their late father.
The statement also urged the public to respect the privacy of deceased family members.
“My father was a very private man to those who knew him. As we move forward, I urge everyone to respect those who are no longer with us,” she said.
She further defended Guardian Angel, describing him as a positive influence in their family and dismissing all negative claims.
“The truth is, he has been nothing but a source of healing and positivity in our lives,” she wrote, adding that his relationship with their mother has brought blessings to the family.
Gilda noted that the singer was not involved in earlier legal matters that are now being referenced online, noting that such decisions were made through due legal processes.
Guardian Angel, she added, is an accomplished individual with success in several fields, including music, farming and business, and has never relied on anyone for personal gain.
She concluded by urging those making allegations to ensure that their claims are supported by facts.
The relationship between Guardian Angel and Esther Musila has previously attracted significant public attention due to their age difference.
The couple has, however, consistently defended their union and maintained that their relationship is built on love and mutual respect.
