NAIROBI, Kenya – Kenyan socialite Huddah Monroe has denied posting an old video of herself with Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, after the throwback clip resurfaced online after his marriage to Nigerian actress Priscilla Ojo.
The video, which shows Huddah and Jux sharing an intimate moment, sparked debate on social media, with some users accusing the Kenyan socialite of deliberately bringing up her past with the singer to attract attention or interfere with his new marriage.
Huddah has now rejected those claims, saying she did not upload the video and that the account responsible for sharing it is not hers.
The socialite said she initially did not want to respond to the controversy but decided to clarify the matter after the allegations continued circulating online.
“I did not post that video. I swear to God, that page is not my page,” she stated.
Huddah explained that she is largely inactive on social media and does not operate the TikTok account that shared the throwback video. She said her TikTok account, mainly allows her to watch content rather than actively post.
“My TikTok page is called Huda Richa, and it’s just for me to watch. I do not—I’m not active on TikTok.”
Huddah also said she has reduced her activity on several social media platforms, arguing that she has little reason to deliberately resurface old content involving Jux. She questioned why users would automatically associate every account bearing her name with her.
The socialite further claimed that the account behind the viral post has previously shared old videos of her.
She urged whoever operates the account to make its identity clear to the public.
“When you’re posting nonsense, please make sure that it’s written, ‘This is a fan page,’ because it’s not me.”
Jux recently married Priscilla Ojo in a high-profile wedding that attracted attention across Tanzania, Nigeria and Kenya. The resurfacing of footage showing him with Huddah therefore prompted some social media users to question why the old material had returned at a time when the singer had begun a new chapter in his personal life.
Although Huddah denied posting the video, she acknowledged that she has known Jux for a long time.
The two were linked publicly in the past, and Huddah appeared in Jux’s “Simuachi” music video. The footage that resurfaced online dates back to that period and was associated with the singer’s music project.
Huddah said their association should not be interpreted as evidence of an ongoing relationship. She explained that she has not spoken directly to Jux for a long time, although they still share mutual friends.
“His friends are my friends, so we’re always talking, but I hadn’t spoke to him in, like, so long.”
According to Huddah, the passage of time and their individual lives have naturally created distance between them. She also rejected descriptions of herself as someone trying to reclaim a past relationship or disrupt Jux’s marriage.
Huddah said she is currently focused on her business ventures and engagements with investors rather than social media controversies. She argued that her current priorities make it unlikely that she would spend time managing old romantic content online.
“I’m too grown for this nonsense. I have so much going on. I have my business that I’m running. I have investors that I’m talking to.”
The socialite also expressed frustration over repeatedly becoming a trending topic despite claiming to have stepped back from active social media use.
She said people often create conversations around her without her direct involvement.
