Arsenal F.C. have been crowned 2025/26 English Premier League champions, ending a painful 22-year wait for the title after rivals Manchester City failed to beat Bournemouth on Tuesday night.
The historic triumph marks Arsenal’s first league title since the legendary “Invincibles” season of 2003/04 under former manager Arsène Wenger.
Under manager Mikel Arteta, the Gunners finally ended years of heartbreak after finishing runners-up in the previous three seasons. Arsenal sealed the title after City were held to a 1-1 draw by Bournemouth, making it mathematically impossible for Pep Guardiola’s side to catch them.
Arsenal’s title charge was built on defensive solidity, consistency and resilience throughout the season. Key performances from players including Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and captain Martin Ødegaard proved decisive in the run-in. Havertz’s crucial winner against Burnley on Monday had moved Arsenal within touching distance before City’s slip handed them the crown.
The triumph sparked massive celebrations across North London, with Arsenal supporters gathering outside the Emirates Stadium to celebrate the club’s first Premier League success in more than two decades.
The title also represents a major milestone for Arteta, who took over Arsenal in 2019 during a difficult rebuilding phase and has now restored the club to the summit of English football.
Arsenal could still cap off a historic season as they prepare for the UEFA Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain F.C. later this month.
