NAKURU, Kenya — Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga has visited Captain William Ruto to offer condolences following the death of his daughter, Mitchell Jelimo Kemboi.

In a statement, the governor said she met Captain Ruto at his residence in Rongai Constituency, Nakuru County, where she conveyed her heartfelt sympathies to the family during what she described as a deeply painful time.

Wanga also extended her wishes for the Kenya Ports Authority Managing Director’s recovery after he was recently involved in an accident.

“May God grant his family strength and comfort during this difficult time,” she said.

She highlighted the ongoing construction of the Homa Bay Pier, a key infrastructure project being overseen by the authority, saying it reflects his commitment to the county’s development.

The loss of Mitchell Jelimo Kemboi has drawn messages of condolence from leaders across the country, with many expressing solidarity with the family as they mourn.

Details surrounding the cause of death have not been made public.
