MOMBASA, Kenya — Six Iranian nationals have been arraigned at Shanzu Law Courts in connection with the trafficking of methamphetamine worth an estimated Sh8.2 billion.
The suspects, identified as Nia Jasem Darzadeh, Jadgal Nadeem Abdulgani, Baloch Hassan, Baloch Imran Mustafa, Baksh Rahim Goharam, and Daryayi Imtiyaz (aka Pamin), were linked to the seizure of 1,036 kilograms of methamphetamine intercepted in October 2025 during a multi-agency maritime operation off the Kenyan coast.
Security agencies intercepted a stateless dhow in the Indian Ocean, leading to the arrest of the six accused.

The charges were formally read following a Miscellaneous Application seeking custodial orders. All six pleaded guilty.
The court has ordered that the suspects be remanded at Shimo La Tewa GK Prison ahead of the facts hearing, set for January 30, 2026.
