NAIROBI, Kenya – Students who missed the earlier application window for selected Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) courses have been given another opportunity after the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) reopened applications for the September 2026 intake.
In a notice issued on Monday, KMTC said applications had been reopened for selected certificate and diploma programmes with available vacancies for the September intake.
The move gives students who were unable to apply during the initial application period another chance to pursue training in healthcare-related fields.
“KUCCPS has reopened applications for selected KMTC courses with available vacancies for the September 2026 intake. If you missed the earlier application window, this is another opportunity to begin your journey towards a healthcare career,” the agency said.
Certificate courses available
According to KUCCPS, the reopened application window covers selected certificate programmes under the Health Sciences & Related cluster.
The available certificate courses include:
- Certificate in Community Health Assistant
- Certificate in Emergency Medical Technician
- Certificate in Health Insurance Management
- Certificate in Health Records and Information Technology
- Certificate in Mortuary Science
- Certificate in Nutrition & Dietetics
- Certificate in Orthopaedic Trauma Medicine
- Certificate in Public Health
Students interested in pursuing certificate-level healthcare training can apply for the programmes with available vacancies through the KUCCPS student portal.
Diploma courses available
KUCCPS also listed several diploma programmes for the September 2026 intake.
These include:
- Diploma in Community Health
- Diploma in Health Counselling
- Diploma in Health Records and Information Technology
- Diploma in Medical Engineering
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences
- Diploma in Medical Social Work
- Diploma in Nutrition & Dietetics
- Diploma in Occupational Therapy

- Diploma in Orthopaedic Technology

KUCCPS has urged interested students to submit their applications through the KUCCPS student portal.

Higher Diploma applications also open
In addition to the reopened certificate and diploma applications, KUCCPS said applications for Higher Diploma Courses are also open.
Applicants interested in Higher Diploma programmes have been directed to use the KMTC application portal.
Students have been encouraged to take advantage of the available vacancies and submit their applications within the reopened application period.
