Linda Mwananchi Leaders Give Update After Meeting Registrar of Political Parties

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- Leaders of the Linda Mwananchi Movement have held talks with the Registrar of Political Parties over the progress of the movement’s reservation and registration process.

Suba South Member of Parliament Caroli Omondi said the meeting, held on Thursday morning, focused on reviewing the status of the movement’s application and addressing issues related to its registration.

In a statement, Omondi said the engagement with the Registrar of Political Parties was productive and expressed optimism that the process would be concluded before the end of the week.

“Together with the Linda Mwananchi Principals, we held a productive meeting this morning with the Registrar of Political Parties to discuss the progress of the reservation and registration of the LINDA MWANANCHI Movement,” Omondi said.

“We appreciate the constructive engagement and remain optimistic about a positive outcome before the end of this week,” he added.

The meeting comes as political formations continue positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election, with new movements seeking formal recognition under Kenya’s political parties framework.

The Registrar of Political Parties is responsible for overseeing the registration, regulation and compliance of political parties in accordance with the Political Parties Act.

Linda Mwananchi brings together a group of political leaders who have been advocating for a new political platform, with its registration expected to determine the movement’s next steps as it seeks to participate in Kenya’s political landscape.

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna is set to become the Movement’s Presidential Candidate.
