NAIROBI, Kenya- National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has presented Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi with the Elder of the Order of the Golden Heart (E.G.H.) honour, recognising his service as the former Leader of the Minority Party in the National Assembly.
Wetang’ula said the honour had earlier been conferred on Wandayi by President William Ruto, alongside the Moran of the Order of the Golden Heart (M.G.H.).
He presented the awards on behalf of the National Assembly.
The Speaker praised Wandayi’s leadership, commitment to democratic ideals and public service, describing his record as exemplary.
“It was a privilege to present these honours to him on behalf of the National Assembly,” Wetang’ula said.
Wandayi previously served as Ugunja MP and Leader of the Minority Party before being appointed Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum.
Parliament’s records list him among recipients of national honours.
