NAIROBI, Kenya – Parents of students at Alliance Boys High School have been summoned for a meeting after an incident involving a section of mattresses in one of the school’s older dormitories.
In a statement dated June 4, 2026, the school said the situation was swiftly brought under control and did not disrupt learning or student activities.
“We wish to inform you that an incident involving a small section of mattresses in one of the older dormitory facilities occurred within the school. We are grateful to report that the situation was promptly contained and managed by the school administration and relevant teams. Most importantly, all students are safe, accounted for, and continuing with their normal morning activities and academic routines,” the statement read.
The school administration said academic programmes continued as normal following the incident, with students remaining under supervision. It added that safety protocols were immediately activated once the matter was identified.
As part of the response, Alliance Boys Board of Management and school leadership scheduled a parents’ meeting for 10 a.m. on the same day.
The school stated: “As a precautionary measure, and in keeping with our commitment to student welfare, safety, and open communication with parents, the Board of Management and the School Administration have resolved to convene a brief parents’ meeting at the school today at 10.00 a.m.”
According to the administration, the meeting is intended to brief parents on the incident, explain the measures taken by the school, and address any concerns regarding student welfare and safety.
The school also said parents would be requested to leave with their sons after the meeting and spend the weekend with them at home to allow the institution time to conduct internal reviews.
It said: “Following the meeting, parents are kindly requested to leave with their sons and spend the weekend with them at home.”
The administration sought to reassure parents that students remained safe and calm despite the incident.
“We wish to reassure all parents that there is no cause for alarm. The students remain calm, safe, and under the care and supervision of the school.”
The school thanked parents for their cooperation and understanding, saying student welfare and safety remain its top priority.
It further reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment while continuing to work closely with parents throughout the review process.
