Controversial musician Kevin Bahati has threatened legal action after a viral video circulated on social media making serious allegations against him, dismissing the claims as false, defamatory and intended to damage his reputation.

In a statement shared on his social media platforms, the singer said he was shocked by the video’s contents and accused the creator of fabricating a story in pursuit of attention and online engagement.

The video, which has attracted widespread discussion online, contains allegations against Bahati. At the time of publication, the claims had not been independently verified, and no official findings or court proceedings had substantiated them.

Reacting to the controversy, Bahati expressed disbelief that someone would make what he described as damaging accusations without evidence.

“I have watched this video with utmost shock. I still can’t believe that any adult can fabricate such a defamatory story for likes, attention and viewership. This is wrong in all ways.”

The musician argued that the allegations crossed the line between creating content for social media and making potentially harmful claims against another person.

He also questioned the logic behind the accusations, saying they implied criminal conduct without offering any supporting evidence.

“In simple words he called me a murderer. So we have been murdering people in all these counties and no one has been reported missing? You either take us where the bodies are buried or tell us who sent you to attack me! I will not let this just slide.”

Bahati did not identify the individual by name in his statement but indicated that he intends to pursue the matter through legal channels.

In his statement, Bahati also addressed the church where the allegations were reportedly aired, saying he respects places of worship but believes they should verify information before allowing it to be broadcast.

“I respect Churches and the holy pulpit as it is sacred… I advise your Church and TV station to substantiate and verify information about anyone before you publish. This is clear defamation that must be punished and compensated. Let’s meet in court!”

Bahati concluded his social media post by reiterating that he generally considers himself a forgiving person but believes there should be consequences for spreading false information that damages someone’s name and career.

He also announced that he would issue a more detailed statement later in the day.

“I am a very forgiving person but we all agree it’s wrong to lie at the expense of someone’s brand and name… Official statement on this matter at 4 p.m.”

The statement comes after a man speaking at a prominent church publicly accused him of running an illegal organ harvesting network across several Kenyan counties. The viral video stemmed from a testimonial session at Pastor Ezekiel Odero’s church, where an individual claimed the former gospel star was operating a syndicate.
