CALIFORNIA, United States – The Walt Disney Company has unveiled a groundbreaking global partnership with TikTok that will allow approved creators to use official clips, characters, and creative assets from some of the world’s biggest entertainment franchises in their short-form videos.
Announced on August 5, 2026, the collaboration marks the first time Disney has opened its vast content library to TikTok creators through an official content-sharing program. The initiative also creates a new pathway for fan-created videos to appear on Disney+, underscoring the entertainment giant’s growing embrace of the creator economy.
The partnership will initially launch as a pilot program in the United States before expanding to international markets in the coming months.
Under the agreement, participating TikTok creators will gain access to official content from Disney’s extensive portfolio, including beloved franchises from Disney Animation, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and FX.
Instead of relying on unofficial edits or copyrighted clips, eligible creators will be able to legally integrate approved Disney assets into their own original short-form videos.
One of the partnership’s most innovative features is its cross-platform integration.
Disney will curate selected creator videos from TikTok and feature them within Verts, Disney+’s vertical video experience designed for mobile users.
The feature will allow Disney+ subscribers to browse fan-created content inspired by Disney’s movies and television series while remaining inside the streaming platform.
The initiative is expected to create a seamless connection between social media discovery and long-form streaming, encouraging viewers who discover a title through short-form videos to watch the full film or series on Disney+.
Disney and TikTok are also launching a Creator Ambassador Program, aimed at recognizing and supporting outstanding creators who produce engaging Disney-related content.
The program will offer participating creators exclusive opportunities, including invitations to premieres and special events, professional development resources, networking opportunities and other rewards designed to help them grow their careers.
Disney hopes to build stronger relationships with online communities that increasingly influence how audiences discover entertainment.
The company believes fan creativity can help extend the reach of its stories while encouraging audiences to explore its full catalogue on Disney+.
The initiative also supports Disney’s efforts to increase engagement within its streaming service by offering viewers more ways to interact with their favorite franchises.
Creators who join the program will benefit from access to official Disney materials while enjoying greater visibility through potential promotion on both TikTok and Disney+.
Disney and TikTok will begin with a pilot program in the United States over the coming months. The companies plan to evaluate audience response before expanding the initiative to additional international markets.
