Actor Brian Kabugi Kinuthia, popularly known as Real Bugi, has announced the heartbreaking death of his mother, Lucy Njumbi Macharia, leaving fans deeply moved after he shared an emotional tribute detailing her final days in hospital.
The former Machachari star revealed that his mother passed away on June 15, 2026, after battling illness for nearly four months.
In a deeply emotional post shared on his Instagram page, Real Bugi opened up about the painful loss, describing his mother not only as a parent but also as his best friend.
The actor accompanied the heartbreaking announcement with videos and photos showing intimate moments spent with his mother while she remained admitted in hospital during her final days.
While confirming the devastating news, Real Bugi shared a touching message reflecting on the difficult journey his family has endured over the past several months.
“I never thought I would have to write a post like this.”
“With a heavy heart, I share that my mother, my best friend, the woman who held me close and whom I held close, is no longer with us.”
The actor explained that his mother had been unwell for some time and that the family fought tirelessly to help her recover.
He revealed that despite doctors’ efforts and continuous treatment, he eventually watched her lose the battle.
“She had been unwell for some time, and we truly did everything we could.”
“I watched her fight. I watched her push through. But on Monday morning, she chose to rest.”
Real Bugi added that while losing his mother has left him devastated, he now finds comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering.
“As much as this breaks my heart, I find comfort in knowing that she is no longer in pain.”
Alongside the emotional statement, Real Bugi posted videos showing some of his final moments together with his mother inside the hospital ward.
The clips captured the actor spending time close to her bedside, comforting her and staying by her side throughout her final days.
Even as the family mourns, Real Bugi revealed they are now dealing with another painful challenge.
According to the actor, his mother’s prolonged treatment has left the family with an outstanding hospital bill of Sh 3.8 million.
He explained that clearing the bill has now become necessary before the family can proceed with funeral arrangements and give his mother a dignified send-off.
