Geoffrey Mosiria Tells Pastor Kanyari to Step In Over Daughter’s Social Media Behaviour

Victor Kanyari has once again found himself at the center of a heated public discussion after Nairobi County Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria publicly raised concerns about the welfare and online behaviour of Kanyari’s children.

The remarks come amid ongoing tension surrounding the custody and care of Kanyari’s children, Sky and Danny, whom he shares with the late gospel singer Betty Bayo. Since her passing, the children have reportedly been living under the care of their stepfather, Hiram “Tash” Gitau, sparking emotional disputes, public statements, and competing narratives about their wellbeing.

In a strongly worded message directed at Kanyari, Mosiria warned that the situation involving the 13-year-old girl requires immediate parental attention, especially regarding her exposure and behaviour on social media platforms.

“My good friend Prophet Kanyari, don’t say I didn’t tell you this. This is not the first time I am raising this concern.”

Mosiria emphasized that adolescence is a critical stage in a child’s life, where guidance, structure, and emotional support are essential to prevent negative external influences.

“The way your 13-year-old daughter is talking on social media, you don’t need rocket science to know that she needs proper parental guidance.”

Mosiria expanded on the risks facing young teenagers in the digital age, highlighting how easily children can be influenced by peers, social media trends, and online interactions.

In his appeal, Mosiria urged Kanyari to take full responsibility for his children’s safety, stressing that legal or biological ties come with both rights and obligations.

He advised the preacher to take immediate steps to ensure the children are protected and guided, even suggesting external help if necessary.

“Pigia Geoffrey Mosiria,” he wrote.

Mosiria also warned against placing blind trust in individuals who are not closely known to the family, especially when it comes to the care of minors.

While he clarified that he was not accusing anyone of wrongdoing, he stressed the importance of vigilance in today’s world where children can easily be exposed to harmful influences.

“Uchungu wa mwana aujuaye ni mzazi,” he went on.

He urged Kanyari to prioritize his children’s safety above all else, even if he is busy or dealing with other personal or professional commitments.

Mosiria also encouraged the use of trusted family members, including grandparents, to help provide structure and emotional stability for the children if the parents are unavailable.

He emphasized that extended family can play an important role in ensuring that children are raised in a safe and supportive environment.

The comments come at a time when Kanyari has already been under public scrutiny over his relationship with his children following the death of Betty Bayo.

The children’s living arrangement under Tash has been a point of tension, with Kanyari claiming that he has been blocked from seeing them and expressing concern about their emotional wellbeing.
