NAIROBI, Kenya — The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Monday received three pallets of ballot papers and statutory forms at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), ahead of Thursday’s by-elections in three constituencies and wards across the country.
The materials, printed by Inform Lykos (Hellas) SA in Athens, Greece, will be used in the May 14 by-elections for Member of National Assembly for Emurua Dikirr Constituency in Narok County, and Member of County Assembly for Porro Ward in Samburu County, and Endo Ward in Elgeyo Marakwet County.
Campaigns end at 5 pm
Campaigns for the three races close Monday at 5 pm, the commission said. All other preparations, including security arrangements and material dispatch, are at an advanced stage.
The commission is currently training polling officials, who will take the Oath of Secrecy upon completion.
Transparency Measures
IEBC invited political parties and the media to witness the arrival and dispatch of election materials, emphasizing its commitment to conducting free, fair, and credible polls.
“With all systems in place, the Commission is fully prepared to conduct the by-elections,” IEBC said.
