Veteran Burundian-Kenyan musician Kidum Kibido and fellow singer Brian Sigu are lucky to be alive after surviving a grisly road accident in Nairobi involving a Range Rover that overturned while they were traveling together.
The frightening accident occurred on Thursday, May 14, 2026, sending shockwaves across the entertainment industry after photos and videos from the scene surfaced online showing the badly damaged vehicle lying on its side.
According to reports, the Range Rover the two musicians were traveling in lost control before flipping over in what witnesses described as a terrifying crash.
Emergency responders and members of the public reportedly rushed to the scene moments after the accident to assist the occupants before they were transported to The Karen Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Despite the severity of the crash, both artists survived the incident and are currently in stable condition.
Kidum Kibido suffered a broken hand during the accident and remains admitted at The Karen Hospital, where he is receiving treatment and undergoing close medical observation. Medical sources indicated that while the injury is painful, it is not life-threatening.
Brian Sigu, on the other hand, escaped without severe physical injuries but is said to be under medical review after experiencing shock following the traumatic ordeal.
Shortly after the accident, Brian Sigu took to social media to reflect on the terrifying experience, emotionally revealing how close they came to death.
“I saw death today; it is so peaceful and smooth, but it didn’t kiss us right now in Karen Hospital,” he shared.
“I’m well, but Kidum broke his hand, another reason to say thank you,” Sigu wrote.
