Tanzanian Bongo Flava icon Lady Jaydee has joined the star-studded lineup for Kenyan music legend Nameless’ 25th anniversary concert, adding a major East African presence to the highly anticipated celebration.

Lady Jaydee, popularly known as “Commando,” will perform at the Nameless at 25 concert on August 15, 2026, at the Carnivore Grounds in Nairobi.

The concert will celebrate Nameless’ 25-year career and his contribution to Kenya’s music industry, while bringing together some of the biggest names who shaped East African urban music over the past two decades.

Lady Jaydee’s inclusion extends the celebration beyond Kenya and gives the event a distinctly regional character. The Tanzanian singer joins fellow Bongo Flava pioneer Mr Nice, who has also been announced as part of the concert lineup.

Lady Jaydee remains one of Tanzania’s most recognisable female voices and a key figure in the development of Bongo Flava.

Lady Jaydee will perform alongside a long list of Kenyan music veterans and contemporary stars.

The lineup includes Wahu, Nyashinski, Jua Cali, Wyre and Nazizi, Mr Lenny, Big Pin, Kidum, Bensoul, Mejja and Madtraxx of The Kansoul, P-Unit, Habib, Manga, Okello Max and Ywaya.

The concert will also pay tribute to the late Kenyan rapper E-Sir, whose career and friendship with Nameless remain an important part of the history of Kenyan urban music.

E-Sir and Nameless became closely associated with the rise of Kenya’s urban music scene in the early 2000s. Their work helped establish a new generation of Kenyan artists and gave local hip-hop and urban pop a stronger presence in the mainstream.

E-Sir died in a road accident in 2003 at the age of 21, just as his music career was gaining momentum. More than two decades later, his influence continues to feature prominently in conversations about the growth of Kenyan hip-hop.

The Nameless at 25 concert will bring together artists from different generations to mark that journey.

The event will also provide fans with an opportunity to revisit music from an era that produced some of Kenya’s most influential artists and groups.

With Lady Jaydee and Mr Nice representing Tanzania, the concert will extend that nostalgia across the East African region.

The Nameless at 25 anniversary concert will take place on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the Carnivore Grounds in Nairobi.

The concert comes after Nameless cancelled the previously announced Sunday, August 16 edition of his 25th-anniversary celebration because of logistical challenges. The Saturday, August 15 show remains the main event.
