Mic Cheque Podcast co-host Mwas has candidly addressed the persistent rumors surrounding his sexuality, revealing that online speculation about his appearance and fashion choices has followed him for years.
Speaking during an appearance on the No Trolling Podcast, the Kenyan digital creator opened up about the frustration of constantly being questioned over things as simple as wearing earrings, shorts, or experimenting with hairstyles.
“I just get a lot of rumors around my sexuality all the time,” Mwas admitted during the conversation.
The popular podcast personality explained that the assumptions have become so frequent that almost anything about his appearance now sparks online debate. According to him, social media users regularly attach labels to him based on fashion choices rather than who he actually is.
“They’re saying everything but straight,” he said humorously before acknowledging how exhausting the constant speculation has become.
Mwas, who has built a strong fanbase through the wildly successful Mic Cheque Podcast, is known for his expressive personality, humor, and modern sense of style. However, he says some people continue to interpret his appearance through narrow stereotypes.
“Just because maybe I’m wearing some shorts or like whatever…., guys are like, ‘Is this guy a girl?’” he explained.
The creator particularly pushed back against assumptions tied to jewelry and personal grooming, saying accessories such as earrings should not automatically define someone’s sexuality.
“Earrings is not gay,” Mwas stated firmly during the interview.
“It’s one of those things that it’s gotten to a point, it’s really annoying for that even to be a consideration as a conversation,” he said.
When asked whether the speculation still affects him currently, Mwas confirmed that it remains an ongoing issue.
“Yeah, till date,” he responded.
The podcaster added that most of the assumptions usually come from superficial observations about his look rather than anything substantial.
“It’s usually the silliest of things — oh, the hair, the piercing,” he said.
