NAIROBI, Kenya— Former Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba is mourning his longtime security aide, Corporal Jonah Kemboi Rotich, who passed away after a prolonged battle with multiple health complications.

Ababu in a statement described as a confidant who turned to be family.

“For eighteen years, Corporal Jonah Kemboi Rotich has been more than just a trusted security aide to me. He has been a cherished brother and a true friend. FAMILY in every sense,” Namwamba wrote.

He eulogized Rotich, who served him through various phases of his public service career as a man of integrity, humility, and unwavering loyalty.

The former CS also highlighted the unique bond that transcended ethnic and religious lines, noting how their families shared deep connections despite coming from different regions and faiths.
