Content creator Naomi Kuria has opened up about a traumatic carjacking incident that escalated into a four-hour ordeal, shedding light on the realities of rising urban insecurity.
Speaking publicly months after the incident, Kuria detailed how the events unfolded on January 30, 2026, offering a clear timeline of what she described as one of the most terrifying experiences of her life.
“Four months ago, I was carjacked at gunpoint, kidnapped for four hours, robbed, and dumped in the middle of the night by your hustling boyfriends,” she stated.
According to Kuria, the incident began in the evening as she was driving home. She recounted being abruptly confronted by armed individuals who intercepted her vehicle. The attackers forced their way in, taking control of the car and placing her in immediate danger.
Kuria explained that the situation escalated quickly, leaving her with little to no time to react. She emphasized how unexpected the attack was, warning that such incidents can happen to anyone regardless of routine or location.
Kuria shared that after the initial carjacking, she was held against her will for approximately four hours. During this time, the assailants drove around with her, robbing her of valuables and maintaining control of the situation.
She described the period as mentally exhausting and unpredictable, noting that she was unsure of what the attackers intended to do next.
While recounting the experience, Kuria indicated that her main focus during those hours was survival. She has since said that remaining calm and cooperative may have contributed to her eventual release.
After several hours, Kuria was eventually abandoned by the attackers. She stated that she was left stranded late at night, bringing an end to the ordeal.
Though shaken, she confirmed that she survived the incident, later expressing gratitude for her safety.
Kuria revealed that it took time before she felt ready to speak about the incident publicly. She explained that processing the trauma was not immediate, and sharing her story required emotional strength.
In her remarks, she stressed that many victims of such crimes often struggle in silence, either due to fear, shock, or the difficulty of reliving the experience. By opening up, she aimed to raise awareness and encourage vigilance among the public.
She also cautioned against complacency, noting that the unpredictability of such attacks makes them difficult to anticipate.
She has since encouraged others to take personal safety seriously, emphasizing that awareness and preparedness can make a difference.
