NAIROBI, Kenya — Political communications strategist Pauline Njoroge has resigned from the Jubilee Party, ending a 14-year association with the political outfit as she moves to fully join the Linda Mwananchi movement.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Njoroge announced her resignation as Deputy Organising Secretary and member of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), saying the decision takes effect immediately.
“Today, however, I believe the time has come to embrace a new chapter. I therefore wish to announce my resignation from the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Jubilee Party, where I have served as Deputy Organizing Secretary, and as a member of the Jubilee Party, effective today,” she said.
Ends 14-Year Jubilee Journey
Njoroge said she joined The National Alliance (TNA) in 2012 as a Communications Manager before the party merged with the United Republican Party (URP) to form the Jubilee Party.
She said the 14 years she spent in the party were transformational, describing the period as one that shaped her political outlook and career in strategic communications.
“These fourteen years have been nothing short of transformational. They have shaped my thinking, sharpened my craft and given me the privilege of serving during one of the most defining political periods in our country’s history,” she said.
Tribute to Uhuru Kenyatta
Njoroge paid tribute to former President Uhuru Kenyatta, describing him as a mentor who played a significant role in her political and professional growth.
She said Kenyatta entrusted her with responsibilities and exposed her to leadership and governance experiences both within Africa and internationally.
“He has been more than a leader to me. He has been a mentor, a teacher and a political father,” she said.
Despite leaving Jubilee, Njoroge said she would continue to seek guidance from the former Head of State.
Joining Linda Mwananchi
Njoroge revealed that she has been involved with the Linda Mwananchi movement since February and has now decided to dedicate herself fully to the initiative.
She said the movement aligns with her belief in promoting good governance, constitutionalism, accountability, the rule of law, and servant leadership.
Njoroge also expressed support for the broader “WANTAM” political campaign, describing it as a call for national renewal rooted in integrity and people-centred leadership.
“It is for this reason that I have made the difficult but deeply considered decision to dedicate myself fully to this cause,” she said.
She described Linda Mwananchi as more than a political movement, saying it seeks to amplify the voices of ordinary Kenyans while defending constitutionalism, human rights, and accountable leadership.
As she closed her statement, Njoroge said she leaves Jubilee with gratitude, lasting friendships, and valuable lessons from her years in the party.
“As one chapter closes, another begins. I step into it with optimism, renewed purpose and an unwavering belief that Kenya deserves leadership that listens, unites and puts citizens first.”
