Kenyan musician Stivo Simple Boy has finally responded after controversial content creator Andrew Kibe sparked outrage online by claiming that men like him should not be allowed to have children.
Kibe, has recently on the Lessons at 30 podcast hosted by Dr. Ofweneke shared his controversial sentiments on Stivo Simple Boy among many other topics.
While reacting to the news, Kibe bluntly stated that “men like Stevo Simple Boy should not be allowed to have children,” a statement that immediately sparked widespread backlash across Kenyan social media.
Many netizens condemned the remarks, accusing Kibe of crossing the line by attacking the rapper’s personal life and questioning his ability to become a father.
While a section of Kibe’s followers attempted to defend his position by arguing that raising children requires financial stability and long-term preparedness, the majority of online users described the comments as disrespectful, elitist, and unnecessarily cruel.
Days after the controversy exploded online, Stivo Simple Boy has now directly addressed Kibe’s remarks and he made it clear that he will not tolerate anyone dragging his child into personal attacks.
In a strongly worded statement shared online, the musician called out Kibe for involving an innocent child in a public controversy.
“Andrew Kibe, kama una tatizo na mimi, zungumza kuhusu mimi. Lakini usimhusishe mtoto wangu ambaye hana kosa lolote,” Stivo wrote.
The singer went on to remind critics that nobody chooses the circumstances they are born into, but everyone has the ability to define themselves through hard work, dignity, and the choices they make later in life.
“Sijawahi kuchagua nilivyozaliwa, lakini nimechagua kuwa mtu mwenye heshima, kufanya kazi kwa bidii na kujenga familia yangu,” he continued.
Stivo also defended his newborn son, emphasizing that no child deserves to be judged, insulted, or looked down upon because of their appearance or because of who their parents are.
“Watoto wote ni baraka, na hakuna mtoto anayestahili kudharauliwa kwa sababu ya mwonekano wake au wazazi wake,” he added.
Despite the controversy surrounding the remarks, Stivo made it clear that he remains focused on his own journey and refuses to allow negativity to distract him from building his future.
“Mimi nitaendelea kusonga mbele. Mungu ndiye hakimu wa wote.”
His response quickly gained traction online, with many Kenyans praising him for remaining calm while firmly defending both himself and his family.
Several social media users applauded the musician for choosing dignity over insults, with many arguing that Kibe’s remarks had gone too far by targeting an innocent child.
