Nigerian actress and influencer Temi Otedola and her husband, award-winning singer Mr Eazi, have sparked widespread online reactions after revealing that they consulted nine different doctors across multiple countries in their pregnancy journey.
The celebrity couple opened up about the unusual arrangement during a recent episode of their podcast, The How Far Podcast, in an episode titled “Nine Doctors Later,” where they explained why they chose to work with such a large medical network while preparing for the arrival of their first child.
According to the couple, their highly mobile lifestyle and constant international travel forced them to keep several medical options available instead of relying on one primary doctor.
During the candid conversation, Mr Eazi explained that uncertainty over where they would physically be when the baby arrives made it necessary to build a global support system.
Speaking on the podcast, he said:
“Why exactly do we see nine doctors? Nine doctors because… we didn’t know where we were gonna be. Which country?”
The revelation immediately caught attention online, with many fans surprised by the extent of planning the couple has put into preparing for parenthood.
Because they frequently move between countries for business, work commitments, and personal travel, sticking to a single doctor was never a practical option.
The couple therefore decided to consult multiple doctors in different countries so they could access medical support regardless of where they happened to be when labor begins.
The conversation also took a humorous turn when Mr Eazi revealed that he had personally developed a strong interest in having their baby born in Japan. The Nigerian music star admitted he had gone as far as researching Japanese baby names while considering the possibility.
However, Temi quickly shut down the idea. Reacting during the podcast discussion, she jokingly said:
“By the way, he’s also been looking at Japanese names and I’m like no, absolutely not.”
The revelation comes weeks after the high-profile couple publicly announced they are expecting their first child together, news that immediately excited fans across Africa and beyond.
Temi, who is the daughter of Nigerian billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, has steadily built her own career in entertainment, acting, and digital influencing.
Mr Eazi, on the other hand, has grown into one of Africa’s biggest global music exports while simultaneously building a successful business empire beyond entertainment.
