NAIROBI, Kenya- CNN journalist Larry Madowo was among the guests who attended the traditional engagement ceremony of President William Ruto’s daughter, Charlene Ruto, in Kilgoris, Narok County, on Saturday.
Madowo was pictured at the ceremony sharing a light moment with President Ruto and Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi.
The journalist’s presence was notable as the high-profile ceremony brought together family members, political leaders and other invited guests.
Charlene held the traditional Koito ceremony with her fiancé, Tanzanian entrepreneur Isaya Yunge, at the Ruto family’s Intonna Heritage Farm.
The ceremony featured traditional performances and cultural celebrations as the two families marked the formalisation of the relationship.
Other prominent guests reported at the ceremony included Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwour, popularly known as Jalang’o, Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris and nominated Senator Karen Nyamu.
Madowo later shared images from the event, including a photograph showing him with President Ruto and other guests.
The CNN journalist has previously interviewed and covered President Ruto and Kenyan political affairs as part of his work in international journalism.
His attendance at Charlene’s engagement added to the list of prominent personalities who turned up for the private family celebration.
